Vacationing with Nana & Papa Haupt

We love our 9/80 schedule! It enables us to have LOOONG weekends like the 4-day Labor day weekend that just past. Nana and Papa ( Levi's parents) came out and we had a lot of fun, and no we didn't go to Africa, we have some pretty cool things here in good ol' central VA!

Coloring is serious business!
Giggling on the couch with Nana

Hey Nana, remember when you thought "being a Grandma" would make you old.....

I don't think so!
Can you spot the signature Haupt pencil?

These girls have no fear, and the giggling is too precious!

One last swim of the summer, too bad it was a little cold in the pool.

Sad that Nana and Papa had to leave :(

You know what they say about monkeys jumpin' on the bed...
We almost have as much fun getting ready for grandparents as we do with them. Thanks for the wonderful memories Nana and Papa, and we can't wait to see you tomorrow Grandma Word!

AMBITIOUS.....

We're tired of moving somewhere and not settling in. We need to quit living out of boxes and since we're out of college we had a little bit of money to help. This was our "long weekend" adventure. We corralled the girls and went to town. Note the wall used to be the basic "aparmtent" white. Hope you enjoy!

Trying to have some fun since we have such neutral furniture and pictures.

Its reminds me of Hawaii where the sky is so brilliant, it takes your breath away.

This is the cleanest my desk has been..... ever!

Just for you Mom, my curtains which are even prettier at night.

All tuckered out, and snuggling with dad. After a long, but very productive day, and the girls were fantastic! Thanks honey.

p.s. The weekend isn't even over.... what else could I get done.....

Our Birthday Boy

Since we only have one birthday boy in our house we have to do things up BIG. This year I surprised Levi with a weekend getaway to..... "Bah-ston"! Let me just say that I was pretty proud of myself, he had no idea where we were headed. We left Thursday after work, and made the three hour trek. The hotel was a little bit of a disappointment, however, even though we woke up to snow flurries, we braved the near freezing weather and had a fantastic day!
I had a list of things to do and he picked to go first to the New England Aquarium:

Here is the sweet penguin exhibit that greets you when you walk in. we've been watching "Surf's Up!" for the last week so this was a lot of fun to see. The girls vying for a spot next to the bronze statue. We settled the matter by buying two little stuffed-animal penguins:)

Here is a tide pool and some "nanemones" she was a little scared of the water rushing in. We had to keep convincing here there was strong glass in the way.

This was a little creepy in my opinion. you have to look close, in the tank is an octopus (Levi's favorite animal) is was this deathly gray and motionless. maybe it was getting in the Halloween spirit, At this tank, I, was grateful for the glass.

This was a cool part, a huge cylinder in the middle of the aquarium with everything from sea turtles to sand sharks and all kinds of fish. we had a great time with part one of the day.

Part two was a fun interactive children's museum. all kinds of toys from train sets to mini kitchens, as well as water and sand tables. The girls had a blast running amok. a wonderful break from the confines of the stroller and the freezing temps outside.

a rare moment the girls working together.... YAY!

our little spitfire in a Bobcat.

The day was wrapped up by a dinner at 99 with the only family we have out this direction. Levi's cousin Scott, his wife Annelise, and daughter Zalia.
We hope you had a fun day in boston Levi, because we sure had fun treating you! We love you and hope being 28 treats you well!
