Here we go, more catch up posts! We had a packed and fast paced summer. There was lots to do before our little Emma started school. To get things kicked off we purchased of our first home!
Lots has changed inside and out since this photo in mid May. We plan to post before and after pics soon. If you want a sneak peek you are just gonna have to come visit! And yes, the cat did come with the home, but thats a story for another post.
We also enjoyed having Reuben ( Levi's brother) and his wife Chantile stay with us throughout the summer, they definitely made the move in, fix-up process easier. Thanks guys!
Being so close to the sound has made the summer fun. We must have turned into Washingtonians quickly since the girls shunned the sun in this photo.
Aunt Channi was just as brave as Charlotte when we went to the tide pools.
Emma needed Dad's encouragement to touch the sea life.
Another great activity that we enjoyed this summer, thanks to an intro by Reuben and Channi, was geocaching, here's Charlotte logging our find
and Emma hiding the cache again after we had found it.
We have explored many new places around the area, including the Geocaching.com headquarters.
We also enjoyed trips on various ferries across the Sound.
We headed to Kingston, Wa for the 4th of July
We couldn't help but to dance to the rhythm of the boat, even Uncle Reuben couldn't resist.
A big part of our summer was Levi, Reuben and their Dad, Dave riding the 200+ mile, STP, aka Seattle to Portland, Levi can't get out of this since he lives near the start line and his parents near the finish! :)
lookin' good "Haupt Cycling", good luck!
Celebratory dance at the finish line
We worked on many projects around the house. With each one Reuben and Chantile were a big help.
Charlotte loved playing Ms. Fix-it with Uncle Reuben
We enjoyed many summertime treats, like a banana, watermelon, guava slurpee for the 4th, Torrie thought it wasn't very festive, just gross. While Emma and Levi drooled over it.
Charlotte fell in love with Ivar's Ice-cream, and yes, that's a Regular size!
Here's a pic of Charlotte and Daddy at a 4th parade, We have one of Emma at basically the same age at a 4th of July parade.
We really enjoyed our back yard. We even had our first camp out!
We enjoyed hot-dogs and s'mores in our very own fire pit, despite our crabby neighbor.
We had a lot of help setting up the tent.
All four of us spent a very memorable night in the tent. We told scary stories that still make us laugh, and were woken up by our backyard birds. We definitely will be doing this again!
We were able to spend lots of time with family now that we are back on the west coast. We traveled to McCall Id for the Cornilles Family reunion ( Levi's mother's side), and then were visited by Arianna, Grandma and Papa Word.
We loved spending time at the lake with Aunt Hannah and Uncle Adam.
And watching the sunset set over the sound with Grandma and Papa Word.
This dirt-covered, smiling face sums up our summer! It was a lot of work, and messy at times, but well worth every memory we made!
