NY or bust, NO MORE!!

This past week Levi and I traveled to NY state in an effort to find somewhere for our little family to live. Barring any unforeseen problems, (like not finishing a thesis, hint, hint, nudge, nudge) or a security clearance being revoked, we are headed to Upstate NY October 1st. The biggest obstacle to us moving has been not knowing the area, and not seeing the available housing firsthand. Luckily we were given the opportunity to spend this past week hunting for apartments, sans Emma. Grandma and Grandpa Woodward My parents took her to spend a fun-filled week at their house in Colorado; I doubt she’ll want to come home.

Although it’s a buyer’s market at the moment, we figure since neither of us has lived here we’ll rent for a little longer and see exactly where we would like to end up. We found a great apartment in the Steeplechase at Malta complex in Malta, NY.

Our New Home

For those who are good at geography, Malta is 5 miles south of Saratoga Springs (the famous horse racing area.) Besides liking the apartment, we have really enjoyed the area and have already visited the great ward we’ll be living in. It has really put my mind at ease now that this crucial step is out of the way. Now we just need to find a name for our new baby girl and de-junk our house! I guess we still have lots to do, but it just seems a little more manageable.
